1) What time do we need to be at Paper Heroes on the 4th? 2) Do we need to have an army list ready on the 4th?

Okay here goes:
We will be startng with 500 pt games at store open (10am) on the 4th. To speed things along, try to have an army list drawn up (I recommend sticking to the Force Org chart, but that's 'cuz I always recommend that.) During Week 1 I am not requiring your army to be fully painted but starting after week 1 if a unit isn't at least 3-color when it hits the table I'd advise not bringing it. I don't want to be a pain but if other people are committing to putting good looking figs on the table then they should expect that of others who are playing as well. We owe it to each other.
After the 4th, feel free to go to the store any day at any time during business hours and play a game with other 40k players. I'll be creating a binder today to be placed at Paper Heroes withcontact numbers and result sheets for the League. Basically you'll put your name, army, and point value along with who won the battle (I'm going to use the winning/loss record as a guage and also for the last 2000 point game, which will be run like a Rogue Trader Tournament (hopefully it WILL be an RTT.)
One other note: Depending on the turn-out we may have to limit play to 2 hours per game with a small break in between. This would help us as if we have alot of players they can all get SOME play time with their armires.

I'm 100% with you on the painted minis.
So if I understand correctly, starting on the 4th, you can play with anyone you can find using 500 point armies (your opponent is not assigned).
After three weeks, it will bump up to 1000 points and you play again...and so on until it reaches 2000, at which point will be the final game.
Can you play multiple times during each three-week period (say against different players), or does only one game count?
Sorry about all the questions.

Don't worry about the questions! This is the first time I've run one of these things for 40k so I'm fine-tuning this with every question!
Play as often as you want. I'm doing this for a number of reasons, primarily to rebuild interest in the game in the area, but also to rally all the people who might have forgotten the game gets played together. The more people see us playing, the more 40k will be played by others and the more people who used to play will come back to the fold, so to speak. All you'll have to do is record the results of your battle in the binder I'm about to create.
Oh and for the record there will be 3 weeks at 2000, but the last week will be a full-on tournament. Think of the 2 weeks before that as 'training runs.'
Hope this helps.

Quick question if I may....
We can change our army lists during the 3 week periods? In between each game?
Also Drop Pods, do they have to be able to drop their doors? I prefer to have mine glued up due to the risk of dropping the doors on mine and other's models AND ease of transport. What is your opinion and rulings in the cases of Drop Pods.

Army Lists - Absolutely change up your lists between games! The point of the escalation league is to learn your army at 4 different play teirs, and learning every possible play style for your army is encouraged! This is also one of the reasons we are playing for 3 weeks to give people every possible opportunity to play that point teir and refine their style.
Drop Pods - Movable parts on any model are cosmetic, just like swivelling turrets and sponsons. The only thing to consider with Drop Pods is that once they hit the table they count as immobilized, meaning in terms of Victory Points the moment it deploys you have given your enemy half the cost of the drop pod immediately.

Ok, what about LOS through Drop Pods that have doors up?
Normally I've played (even in tourneys at Book Stan in Beaumont) that LOS is always there through the Drop Pod, however a 4+ cover save is given to the target.
Would this be a good rule? Or just no LOS?

That would agree with 5th, so I'd say yes to the 4+

I'm gonna bug ya eventually with questions =0P
Any special rules or things that you can think of for Space Wolves? What they can or can't take that might need clarification? In case you can't tell....I play Space Wolves, and with our codex being as old as it is (3rd Ed) things may not jive for some people. I would rather hear about things before hand rather than "discussing" it with people on Sat =P
