Palace of the Breaking Dawn
Hundreds of years ago, a lone ronin cast out from a Great Clan began the construction of Sunrise Keep. He saw its completion during his lifetime with the assistance of his followers and children, but it was not until decades after his death that those who carried on his legacy began construction of a greater, grander estate: the Palace of the Breaking Dawn. Concealed high in the peaks of the Mountains of Regret, the castle has rarely been seen by outsiders, and even those responsible for its construction have remained away from it for most of its existence. For centuries, it has sat empty and unused, awaiting the fulfillment of its destiny.
That time is now.
The wave men of the Empire have been galvanized in a way that has not happened since the time of the Clan War. The Legion of Two Thousand, once a great and illustrious military force sponsored by the Imperial families, has been reborn, and is commanded by the peerless will of the ronin Tamago and Utagawa. For 15 months they have scoured the Empire, gathering to their banner the most talented and skilled ronin that exist anywhere, and have honed them into a fighting force such as even the Great Clans do not suspect exists. The Legion of Two Thousand now stands ready to protect the Empire from any threat, no matter the cost.
The first threat they face, however, is one that no one could ever have expected.
For the duration of the Kotei Season only, players will have the opportunity to play a proxied version of this Stronghold in Kotei tournaments, taking up the banner of the ronin of the Empire and trying to bring Glory and Honor to the Empress by doing so.
All Glory points (from placing in the top 4 of a Kotei tournament) gained by a player using the Palace of Breaking Dawn as his Stronghold will be given to the Empire.
All Honor points (from placing in the top 4 of a Kotei Megagame Honor Event) gained by a player that declares himself a ronin will be given to the Empire as well.
You may print the stronghold and use it for any tournament as of March 1st, 2010. All text on the card must be clearly visible, so use a good printer. You will notice the legality date for the stronghold is printed in the lower right corner of the card. More on this to come.
In addition to that, we have crafted a very specific challenge that will appear during Kotei season. Failure to complete this challenge will mean that the ronin will no longer have a palace to call their headquarters.
Success, however, will mean that the Palace of the Breaking Dawn will become a legal Stronghold for the remainder of the Celestial Arc.
Ronin of the Empire, the Empress has acknowledged you and will be your master for the Kotei season. Serve her well and you will be rewarded. Do not meet her expectations and you will go back to your condition.
