So any of yall Battletech/Mechwarrior fans? I ask as there's a place in Houston that has some pods I like to go pilot every few months and planning another trip out there soon.
Its a cockpit pod, completely enclosed with 7 monitors, throttle, joystick, footpeddles and about 50 or so working buttons with different functions (don't worry, its easy to pick up and can be played with just throttle and joystick)
Pretty awesome stuff and was wondering if anyone else wants to get in and head over there.
Its running the Mechwarrior 4 Engine with some mods to make it interface correctly with the hardware. Few balance tweaks maybe but nothing much. Think last I time i was there I asked how much was changed they said about 90% of the difference in code was hardware interface related.
Mechcorps.com is their website, check it out if you're interested. Not sure of exact date but it would be a saturday "Regular's Night" event (25$ + tax, all you can play from 6pm-midnight(closing time)) They have a calander on the website to use as a guide, but if there's enough people I could probably convince them to move or hold a second one for the week on a saturday if they aren't holding one on a week that works for us. And they have 12 working pods, and can divide those up any way they want so if you want a one-on-one, or team game with someone they can arrange it.
So post here or get with me at the shop if anyone's interested.
