I talked with Matt - and I think one other person - at our last meeting about this. This is the FATAL review that I wrote with Jason Sartin waaaay back in 2003, back when FATAL first "broke" on rpg.net and subsequently became legend. www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/14/14567.phtmlAnd this is the counter-review - also notable for what Byron Hall was like to deal with back in the day: forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=45433-Darren MacLennan

That second link doesn't go to the counter-review, it goes to a forum where people are discussing the counter-review.

There's no excuse for that game.
For the record, I have a pathological aversion to games that bad. I never opened my buddy's copy of Synnibbar for that reason and while I DO own HoL its because I had a really fun time playing it one night over rum and pretzels.
