Warmachine/Hordes Events!

Here's a list of ideas I think we should all plie over and decide what we like:

1.) Steamroller - 50pts! (35 pts isn't enough blood and metal for those with the lust for destruction)

2.) 25pt. Ultima Mangled Metal/Tooth and Claw - You read right. 25pts of jacks and beasts wrecking face. Only a cool twist. You get two warcasters, two battlegroups equaling 25pts. Dig it?

3.) Escalation League - We start small. 25pts! But here's the kicker. We paint our army. Points for winning will be accumulated and points for best painted model, too, for each session. I'll kick in a prize with the points I get from Privateer Press and get the winner of the league a plastic jack kit (or something of equal value). How fast it goes up in points...maybe 25 per session? 3 sessions? that's 25 pts painted in a month. Totally doable.

4.) The normal. We stick with the leagues that are losing interest because we're saturated with them and don't play casually anymore.

Personally, I like the Escalation idea for painting and stuff. It's be AWESOME to see people come up with fully painted armies ready to duke it out. Lemme here what you think and we'll set it up for Saturday Nov. 13th as a game day for something beyond spectacular.

I like the Escalation League as well. My thought though is take it slow....give a couple weeks to each point level (unless popular demand raises it) but that should let everyone get back into the groove of playing the game without making them feel like they NEED to get the next level THAT moment.

We could do the normal 25, 35, 50. That's 3 months for a fully painted force. And, it's easier than 25, 50, 75, cost/time wise. Whoever shows up can help determine if we continue it a 4th month and do 75pt! (gasp)

So when are you planning on doing this escalation league? right now I only have the trollkins starter box with 2 addditional warlocks that I bought just because I liked the minis.

It's going to be in December. I don't have a date just yet since nothing is on the calender for Warmachine/HORDES, but I'm going to make something anyways despite its omition. It will most likely be the 2nd or 3rd week of Dec. It will be 25, 35, 50 pts. One meeting a month. Players will get points for winning and points for painting. Top 3 point holders will get something like a Heavy Warjack kit (or something of equal value), light warjack kit (same thing), and a solo of roughly $10 dollar value. I haven't chisseled out all the details yet so the prizes may change.

Being new to the area can someone please tell me about what time people show up to start gaming on Saturdays.

Some people show up at 10a when Kevin opens the store but most of it starts at 11a or so
